Grand Falls-Windsor, NL – Hockey NL announced today that Paul Dagg is the new Technical Director, Event Coordinator for the provincial hockey association.

Dagg just recently worked with the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League as Hockey Operations, Assistant. He also served as Development Coordinator for Hockey Canada’s Atlantic Regional Centre in Saint John, NB for two years before the office was closed by the National organization last June. He also has experience in other hockey related positions such as employment with the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and Hockey Australia. This experience coupled with a diploma in sports management makes the transition by Hockey NL an easier one.

“The addition of Paul to lead our development programs and regional events will help our organization strengthen the services to our members,” said Hockey NL President Jack Lee. “With the closing of the Atlantic Centre last year and the continued demands on our volunteers, we believed it was time to move to a full time position and Paul’s experience and enthusiasm will be great for our association.”

“I am very excited to be joining Hockey NL, Newfoundland and Labrador has a strong and proud hockey tradition. I hope my expertise can continue to assist with the development of players, coaches and programs across this great province”, said Dagg. “Through my time with Hockey Canada’s Atlantic Regional Centre I had the pleasure of building many great relationships with the passionate volunteers here; I look forward to continuing those existing relationships and also building many new ones as we move forward as an organization”

Dagg will be responsible to work with the volunteers in the operation side of the High Performance Program, Coach Education, Player Development (including specialty and skill clinics) as well as other development training, projects and seminars. He will work closely with the host minor hockey associations for events including the regional championships and provincial AAA tournaments.

Paul will be working out of his home office in Gould’s, and can be reached at:
