Grand Falls-Windsor –   Hockey NL will be holding their Fall Meetings this weekend in Gander to prepare for the upcoming season.

The sessions are for the Minor, Female, Junior and Senior Hockey members in the province and are structured in a way to set plans for provincial championships and other activities for the season.

The membership will have a number of presentations over the weekend that focus on topics such as local governance issues, the new Hockey University and E-Learning for officials and coaches, Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games, and other key areas.

In the female division, delegates will be organizing the long game to coincide with World Girls Hockey Day on October 12, 2013.  The minor delegates will be tabling a new AAA proposed structure for Pee Wee and Bantam divisions.  The senior hockey teams and leagues will be discussing the Herder Memorial Championship operations and protocols to deal with abusive fans.  The junior hockey participants will be tabling the use of four officials in junior hockey this season.  Hockey NL will also be assembling key facilitators in the province to prepare them for coach education this coming season with a focus on the introduction of body checking clinics and changes to the coach training process. 

The meeting will kick off on Friday evening with an open general session at 6:30 pm with divisions cluing up their meetings on Saturday evening.  To view the agendas please CLICK HERE.
