Caribous Back in the Series

 

The Clarenville Caribous beat the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts 5-2 on Sunday afternoon in game five of the best of seven of the 2014 Herder Memorial Championships brought to you by The Telegram played at the Clarenville Event Centre. The series now stands 3 games for the Cataracts and 2 games for the Caribous.

Ryan Delaney led the winning team with two goals with singles from Dale Sullivan, Chad Earle and Dustin Russell, into an empty.  The Caribous scored two power play goals in the first period while on a five minute power play.

 

Brandon Nicholas and Mike Sibley answered for the Cataracts.

 

Jason Churchill got his second win of the series stopping 19 shots with A. J. Whiffin suffering the loss for the Cataracts while facing 35 shots.

 

Game six of the best of seven will go 7:30 pm next Saturday night at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium in Grand Falls-Windsor. If the Caribous win, the game seven will be played on Sunday afternoon at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium.
