The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts beat the Clarenville Caribous 4-2 on Sunday, to take a 2-0 series lead in the 2014 Herder Memorial Championships brought to you by The Telegram played at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium in Grand Falls-Windsor.
 
Cam Fergus (Short Handed), Rodi Short, Rob Hennigar, and team captain Mike Brent (power play) scored for the Cataracts. 
 
Ryan Desrosiers and Ryan Delaney replied for the Caribous.
 
A.J. Whiffin stopped 42 shots for the win while Jason Churchill played goaltender and stopped 33 shots for the Caribous.
 
The series will now shift to Clarenville for games 3,4 and 5, if necessary, beginning next Friday night at 8:00 p.m.
