The Central West Junior Hockey League Finals begin this upcoming weekend when the Port aux Basques Mariners sail into Bishop’s Falls to take on the Express. The Mariners are searching for their first CWJHL title after reaching the finals in each of the past four seasons since their expansion to the league. Meanwhile, the Express boast an experience lineup with past championship titles. After a neck-and-neck season series between these two squads, the CWJHL Finals have set the stage for an exciting encore. Game #1 is set for the Pat O’Reilly Stadium in Bishop’s Falls on Saturday, March 9th at 8:00pm, followed by Game #2 on Sunday at 1:00pm on the same ice. The series shifts to the Gateway Town for Game #3 on Friday, March 15th at 8:00pm, with Game #4 going Saturday at 7:30pm, and if necessary, Game #5 on Sunday at 1:30pm, all at the Bruce II Arena in Port aux Basques. Games #6 and #7 are scheduled for Bishop’s Falls on March 23rd and 24th if needed. Coming into the home stretch, with the finish line in sight, the CWJHL will come down to the wire in providing some of the most exciting hockey the region has ever seen.
