The 2016 Don Johnson Memorial Cup, Atlantic Junior B Championship is set to begin at the new Conception Bay South Arena in CBS Tuesday. The regional championship features the top teams in each province and will run from April 26-May 1, 2016.

The following teams will be competing on behalf of their respective hockey branches:

Hockey Nova Scotia: Valley Maple Leafs

Hockey New Brunswick: Moncton Vito’s

Hockey PEI: Kensington Vipers

Hockey NL: Moorfrost CBN Junior Stars

Host: Avalon Junior Capitals

The teams will compete in a single round robin with the top four teams playing off to earn a spot in the championship game on Sunday.

SCHEDULE

The Stars earned the right to compete in the regional championship by winning the St. John’s Junior League finals over the host Capitals on April 9th.

The Don Johnson Memorial Cup was first played in 1982, and is named after the late Don Johnson of St. John’s. Johnson served as President/Chairman of both Hockey NL and Hockey Canada and dedicated most of his life to amateur hockey.
