The Western Kings are excited for the upcoming Major Midget season.  There has been a lot of work completed in the past month, with a lot more work in progress.  The Western Kings will open the 2017-18 season at home in the Corner Brook Civic Centre against the Tripen Osprey on September 9, 2017.  The Western Kings are proud to announce a number of developments in anticipation for the upcoming season.

The remaining staff positions are in the process of being filled and further announcements will be made as the process is completed.

Tryouts

Tryouts for the 2017-18 Major Midget season will start on August 11-13, 2017.  Ice times for the first tryout weekend are currently scheduled for:

Friday August 11                              

5:00 pm – 6:15 pm – Registration

6:30 pm – 8:30 pm – On ice session

Saturday August 12                        

11:00 am – 1:00 pm – On ice session

2:15 pm – 5:00 pm – Fitness Testing

2:45 pm – 3:30 pm – Parent meeting

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – On ice session  

Sunday August 13                          

11:30 am – 1:30 pm – On ice session

 

Players will be invited back for additional tryout weekends to take place on August 18-20 and August 25-27.    All tryout sessions will take place at the Corner Brook Civic Centre.  The cost for tryouts will be $125 for each weekend.

Players interested in attending tryouts must indicate their interest to [email protected] no later than Friday August 4, 2017.

Twitter

The Western Kings have set up a new twitter account: @kingswestern.  Please give the team a follow.  This account will be the main source of information and updates for the team.  Other social media accounts will be established shortly.

Sponsorship opportunities

The Western Kings have developed a comprehensive sponsorship program for the 2017-18 season.  Companies and organizations that are interested in sponsoring the team are asked to contact Craig Simms (638-3772) or Jason Oake (636-1456) for further details.

The leadership group for the Western Kings are focused on providing the highest quality hockey development program possible for the players.  We look to build on the successes of the past, to create a phenomenal program for these young men.  We look forward to working with the previous supporters of Major Midget hockey in Western Newfoundland, and hope to see any even greater community and business support in the future.
