If you’re looking to become Coach 2 Trained within Hockey NL for the 2026-27 season, please follow the steps below to complete all necessary requirements.

✅ Steps to Become Coach 2 Trained:

  1. Members must have a current Criminal Record Check (CRC), Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) & Hockey NL Screening Application (declaration) on file with Hockey NL
  2. Complete the Shift Forward Hockey Canada Online Course
  3. Complete the Hockey Canada Coach 2 Online Course
  4. Complete one or more of the Hockey Canada coach pathway’s following your completion of the Hockey Canada Coach 2 Online Course. Applicable pathways are listed below:

    • U13

    • U15

    • U18

  5. Attend a 3-Hour In-Class Coach 1 Session & Participate in a Mandatory 1-Hour On-Ice Coach 1 Session

You cannot register with a team unless your Criminal Record Check (CRC), Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) & Hockey NL Screeneing Application (declaration) have been completed and approved. Please ensure these are submitted as early as possible to avoid delays.
