2027 Canada Winter Games – Hockey NL Critical Path

Hockey NL will identify and prepare athletes to represent Team NL at the 2027 Canada Winter Games through a structured multi-phase evaluation and development process.

Phase 1 Camp
Dates: May 1–3, 2026
Location: Paradise Arena

Men’s Program

· 51 players (invite-only)

· Eligible athletes: 2011–2015 birth years

    • 27 Forwards
    • 18 Defence
    • 6 Goaltenders

· Alternate invitations may be issued at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Women’s Program

· Open registration for eligible athletes (2009–2010 birth years)

· Identified players (2011–2015) may be invited by the coaching staff.

· Alternate invitations may be issued at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Phase 2 Camp
Dates: June 25–28, 2026
Location: Paradise Arena

Men’s & Women’s Programs

· 34 players (invite-only)

    • 18 Forwards
    • 12 Defence
    • 4 Goaltenders

· Alternate invitations may be issued at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Team Development (Post–Phase 2)
Athletes remaining in the program will participate in continued preparation leading toward the Canada Winter Games. This phase will include ongoing team development activities, communication with coaching staff, and continued monitoring of athlete performance.

Pre–Canada Games Competition Event
Selected athletes will participate in a Pre-Games competition event used for additional evaluation and team preparation. Up to 25 players may be selected to participate.

October 8–11, 2026
Dieppe, New Brunswick

Women’s Event
Dates and location to be announced.

Winter Regroup & Canada Games Preparation Camp
Rostered players will participate in a winter regroup camp during the Christmas holidays, as well as a 2–3 day Pre-Games preparation camp prior to departing for the Canada Winter Games.

Final Team Selection
Final roster decisions for Team NL will be made following the evaluation process and preparation period leading into the 2027 Canada Winter Games.

Men’s Event – February 28 – March 6, 2027
Women’s Event – March 8 – 14, 2027
