Grand Falls-Windsor, NL-  The 2016 Midget AAA Female Provincials are being held this weekend at the Polar Centre in St. Anthony, NL. The championship features the top 15, 16 and 17 year old female players in the province representing four regional teams.

The winner of the tournament will earn the right to represent the province and attend the Atlantic Regional Championship being held in Charlottetown, PEI from March 31-April 3, 2016. The Atlantic Regional Championship is the final event to determine who will represent Atlantic Canada at the 2016 Esso Cup Female Midget National Championship taking place this year in Weyburn, SK from April 17-23, 2016.

The teams will compete in a single round robin followed by a championship round on Sunday. The four teams are Host team –Western Warriors, Eastern Ice Breakers, Tri Pen Ice and the Central Ice Pak. The Warriors are the defending champions.  The teams have already competed in two (2) warm-up tournaments throughout the season.
