Grand Falls-Windsor, NL- The 2016 Bantam AAA Female Provincials are being held this weekend at the Bruce II Arena in Port Aux Basques, NL. The championship features the top 13 and 14 year old female players in the province representing four regional teams.  Teams competing this weekend are the Host team –Western Warriors, Eastern Ice Breakers, Tri Pen Ice and the Central Ice Pak.

The winner of the provincials will claim the right to represent Hockey NL at the 2016 Bantam Female Atlantic Championship being held this year in Bridgewater, NS from April 7-10, 2016.   The Eastern Ice Breakers are the defending provincial and Atlantic champs, after taking the regional title in an epic quadruple overtime in Paradise, NL last year.  The Warriors also claimed bronze in the 2015 Atlantic Championship.  So fans are expected to be treated to some great hockey over the weekend.

The four teams will compete in a single round robin followed by a championship round on Sunday.
