Alex Faulkner, the first Newfoundlander to play in the National Hockey League was honoured on Saturday evening at the Bell Aliant Pee Wee Atlantics awards banquet.  Faulkner who was also the guest speaker was presented with a plaque from the Host Committee, celebrating his 50th anniversary since playing his first NHL game.

Alex Faulkner from Bishop Falls, NL started his NHL career with Toronto Maple Leafs in 1963 before going to play with the Detroit Red Wings. Faulkner is also a proud member of the Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador Hall of Fame.
