Patrick is a hard working official who works a lot of hockey for Goulds Minor and was recently added to the Metro Officials Association where he will continue to progress and grow as an official.
His Local Referee in Chief Colin Heffernan praises Patrick’s efforts and commitment to the Officiating Program. ”He has taken many lessons from referee clinics, supervisions, and working games with experienced officials. He has a tremendous commitment to the mechanics, knowledge, and personality needed to succeed as an official.” Patrick attended our Spring OPOE and was selected to represent Hockey NL at the Atlantic Challenge Cup in Moncton during the Thanksgiving weekend, where he had a great tournament.
Great work Patrick!
An official can be nominated by filling out an online application form. One official is selected each month, featured on the website and social media, and receives a Hockey NL package. An official only needs to be nominated once — if not selected in a given month, they remain eligible for future months.
Officials who complete their certification pathway may be recognized through Hockey NL’s Official of the Month program and other officiating development opportunities throughout the season.
