Best of the Bench Contest celebrates volunteer hockey coaches in Newfoundland and Labrador
Hickman Automotive Group has opened nominations for the Best of the Bench contest to recognize the most outstanding volunteer hockey coach in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Coinciding with Hickman’s Hockey Heroes 2016 Weekend, the Best of the Bench contest will feature nominations and voting by the general public on Hickman Automotive Group’s Facebook page, with a winner being crowned Best of the Bench for 2016! The winning volunteer hockey coach will be officially announced on April 22nd and will win all-star access to all Hockey Heroes games, will get to coach one of the NHL Alumni teams, plus they will win 2-nights’ accommodations and spending money for a total VIP weekend experience!

About Hockey Heroes Weekend:
The 3rd annual Hockey Heroes Weekend will take place from April 29th – May 1st, 2016 at the Paradise Double Ice Complex. Hosted by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NL and sponsored by Hickman Automotive Group, funds raised from Hickman’s Hockey Heroes 2016 Weekend support life-saving research and programs to address heart disease and stroke in Newfoundland and Labrador. The event offers participants an opportunity to play hockey with NHL alumni in a round robin style tournament, as well as attend events with them throughout the weekend. Some of the greatest NHL heroes have already confirmed their attendance including Shayne Corson, Paul Coffey, Brad May, Adam Oats, Chris Nilan and Darren Langdon.

The Best of the Bench contest nominations will be open on Hickman Automotive Group’s Facebook page from March 22nd to April 9th, after which time the top 5 coaches, chosen by a committee, will be open to a province-wide vote.
