“Best of the Bench” Contest
Hickman Automotive Group, in collaboration with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NL, recently launched a contest entitled “Best of the Bench”. The Best of the Bench contest was officially launched on Facebook on April 1st and was created to allow volunteer hockey coaches across the province to be recognized for all of the time they give to encourage and instill confidence in our young people and to lead healthy, active lifestyles. It’s Hickman’s way of saying thank you to all the great couches out there.
Coinciding with the 2nd Hickman’s Hockey Heroes Weekend (May 8-10th), the Best of the Bench contest will feature nominations and voting by the general public on Hickman Automotive Group’s Facebook page, with a winner being crowned Best of the Bench for 2015 on May 1st! People can nominate their volunteer hockey coach on Facebook until April 18th, at which time a committee will be formed to determine the Top 5 finalists. The 5 Top finalists will then be put up on Facebook for public voting. Once voting has closed (May 1st), the winner will be announced on Facebook and will win the VIP weekend experience (for two) during Hockey Heroes Weekend 2015. The grand prize will include 2-nights’ accommodations at The Capital Hotel, gas mileage, entry to all Hickman’s Hockey Heroes 2015 events throughout the weekend, a chance to meet and mingle with NHL Alumni, a limo to drop off at events on Friday and Saturday nights, an opportunity to coach one of the Alumni teams, and $500 spending money.
