Development Weekend Wrap-up (Port aux Basques & Clarenville)
This past weekend Hockey NL held development sessions in both Port aux Basques and Clarenville.
Port aux Basques:
The Port aux Basques sessions included on-ice development sessions for IP, Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam & Female U15. An off-ice Novice presentation was given to all Novice parents with regards to the changes in ice set-up for the younger age groups. Hockey NL also delivered a goaltending 1 clinic to local coaches, educating everyone on proper goaltending development for all ages. The goaltending session including classroom work, followed by an on ice session. Officials were also included, HNL put local officials through official development sessions both on and off the ice. All sessions were free to all participants to attend.
Clarenville:
Hockey NL hosted a female Under 9 development camp this past weekend in Clarenville, which included a full day of both on and off-ice activities. The camp exposes young female players to fun on ice drills as well as activities off the ice. The female U9 camp is the third so far this season. Previous camps were held in Goulds and Gander. The fourth instalment will see the camp head west to Stephenville, tentatively booked for late January 2018. All sessions were free to all participants to attend.
