Corner Brook, NL – Gold Medal Game (Recap): Tricom opened the scoring nine seconds into the game when Tournament MVP Nick Gosse banked one in off the pad of EDZA East goalie Luc Roy.
The second period saw EDZA East come out firing, Chad Dioron was left alone in the slot and evened the game at one goal a side. Halfway through the second period Tournament Top Scorer Brennan Laverty scored his first, to give EDZA East their first lead of the game. Shortly after EDZA East won the draw, Yannick Leblanc fired a hard shot from the point and was tipped home by Tournament Top Forward Alex Lewis. Lewis would pot his second goal of the game, and give EDZA East a commanding 4-1 lead.
Not to be outdone Gosse answered with a power play marker late in the second and with two minutes remaining in the period Kent Gillingham scored his first of the game to make it a 4-3 game heading into the final frame.
Maxime Boudreau opened the scoring a minute into the third period and EDZA East reclaimed their two goal lead. It would remain that way until Laverty notched his second into the empty net. Tricom would add a late power play goal, but just alittle too late as EDZA East claims the Gold Medal by a final score of 6-4.
Nick Gosse received player of the game honours for Tricom and Alex Lewis was the recipient for EDZA East.
Bronze Medal Game (Recap): Evan Gallant opened the scoring for the Summerside Capitals and they didn’t look back as Summerside defeated the Truro Bearcats by a score of 4-1 to claim the Bronze Medal at the 2013 Bell Aliant Pee Wee Atlantic Championships. Nick Reeves and Issac Oram continued the scoring in the second period for the Capitals as they took a 3-0 lead into the third period. Truro gained some momentum when Cody MacDonald put one past Capitals goalie Devon Newberry. That momentum was quickly taken away as Summerside answered back thirty seconds later with a goal from Noah Dobson.
Rowan Sears received the player of the game honour for the Truro Bearcats and Evan Gallant was the player of the game for the Summerside Capitals.
