Congratulations to Elena Hannem of Paradise Minor Hockey for being selected as Hockey NL’s Female Coach of the Month for January 2025.

Coaching has the potential to inspire an athlete to participate in sports for life. A mediocre coach tells; a good coach explains; a superior coach demonstrates; and a great coach inspires. Coaches spend many hours building up a player’s strengths and minimizing their weaknesses. They have the ability to take all the different personalities on a team and find what each and every one is best at! This IS Coach Elena.

Elena has been coaching female hockey in Paradise for the last number of years. She is an exceptional role model for the team, and for all female hockey players. A former hockey player herself, Elena is able to offer advice, provide critique and lend support. She has volunteered so much of her time to the development of the team and has gone above and beyond to show them support. The experiences and memories shared with Coach Elena, both on and off the ice, will live with these young players forever. She is more than deserving of the title of Coach of the Month.
