Grand Falls-Windsor, NL – The 2022 Herder Memorial Championship will begin in Bay Bulls this Friday night, April 15th at 7:30 p.m. at the Ken Williams Southern Shore Arena. The Southern Shore Breakers will play host to the Clarenville Caribous in a seven-game series for the Herder championship. The Breakers finished second in points during the AESHL regular season and defeated the CB Blues in 6 games to advance to the Herder Final. The Caribous are entering the finals after ousting the St. John’s Caps in a thrilling game 7 overtime win, 5-4. This will be the first Herder Memorial Championship after a two-year absence due to COVID-19.

The full schedule for the seven-game series is listed below. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $5 for children.

The Herder Memorial Trophy was first presented by the Evening Telegram Limited in 1935 to honor the hockey playing Herder Family, who founded the Evening Telegram in 1879. The trophy is emblematic of the All-Newfoundland Senior Hockey Championship.
