HOCKEY NL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD LAST WEEKEND

Grand Falls-Windsor, NL- Hockey NL concluded their Annual General Meeting last weekend.
Hockey NL hosted their Annual General Meeting on Saturday, September 19th .
The meeting was hosted in Gander with the majority of the membership attending virtually due to the gathering restrictions.
The association conducted their annual reports and elections.
A summary of some of the items reported during this year’s AGM include:
- Another increase in registration and participation from the previous year although the season was cut short on March 12, 2020 due to the pandemic.
- The association presented their 2020-2025 Strategic Plan that will focus on Recruitment and Retention, Organizational Development, Program Consistency and Member success.
- A new affiliation regulation was approved to support the membership in having additional players when registered players are unavailable due to injury or illness.
- A revised perpetual annual meeting schedule was approved that will focus on improved communication and regional needs and assessments.
New business was focused on the direction of the organization’s safe return to hockey plan this coming season.

Arnold Kelly, Goose Bay – Chair, Minor
Ken Chafe, Goulds – Hockey Development Chair
Ed Flood, Corner Brook – Referee-in-Chief
Gerry Evans, Mount Pearl – Immediate Past President
Murray Roberts of Botwood was introduced as Life Member of the association. Roberts served as association Vice President for 18 years.
Robert Bouzane, Ron Downey, Gary Gale and Lynette Hiscock received their Gold Stick Pin for serving (10) ten years on the Board of Directors.
