Grand Falls-Windsor, NL-
Hockey NL in partnership with True Sport is pleased to host their second Brain Injury / Concussion Awareness Seminar in conjunction with 2 peewee and 2 bantam aged hockey teams from the St. John’s area.
The seminar will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 6:30 pm at Mount Pearl Senior High School in Mount Pearl.
Alex Bridal of True Sport and Murray Roberts, Vice President of Hockey NL will be finalizing the input from the young players to be used in further research. Roberts is interested in the feedback from the hockey players. “We are really looking forward in gathering more information on the concussion issue and the views of the membership. We continue to gather information and provide programs to reduce the risk of injury to our players and this project is one that we are very committed to in our branch”, said Roberts.
True Sport targeted Newfoundland and Labrador as one of the sites in this project and were in the province this fall to complete the first phase of the project including surveying the players and delivering key messages of brain injury.
For further information on this particular project, please contact Murray Roberts at 709-486-6181.
