Grand Falls-Windsor, NL-  The 2017 Midget AAA Female Provincials are being held this weekend at the Southern Shore Arena in Witless Bay, NL. The championship features the top 15, 16 and 17 year old female players in the province representing five regional teams.

The winner of the tournament will earn the right to represent the province and attend the Atlantic Regional Championship being held in East Hants, Dartmouth, NS from March 30-April 2, 2017. The Atlantic Regional Championship is the final event to determine who will represent Atlantic Canada at the 2017 Esso Cup Female Midget National Championship taking place this year in Marden, MB from April 23-29, 2017.

The teams will compete in a single round robin followed by a championship game on Sunday. The five teams are Host team – Eastern Ice Breakers, Western Warriors, Tri Pen Ice, Northern Huskies and the Central Ice Pak. The Warriors are the two-time defending champions.
