Through the first period both teams played a tight checking affair, holding each other scoreless. The first goal would come early in the second period when Kynan Berger opened the scoring for the Gladiators just 43 seconds into the period. The Gladiators would extend their lead to 3 – 0 before the second period was in the books on goals by Noah McMullin and Morgan Barron.
Moncton would capitalize on a powerplay early in the third period when Kyle Ward would get them on the board and cut the lead to 3-1.
After Newbridge Academy extended their lead to 4-1 with 5 minutes to play the game looked out of reach, but the Moncton Flyers would not go down quietly and would score two late period goals to cut the lead to 4-3, but would run out of time. The Newbridge Academy Gladiators would hold on for a 4-3 victory and become the 2015 Major Midget Atlantic Champions.
The Newbridge Academy Gladiators will now represent the Atlantic Region at the 2015 Telus Cup National Midget Hockey Championship April 20-26 in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec.
