Grand Falls-Windsor, NL- Hockey NL would like to congratulate the Northeast Eagles Pee Wee C Team for being named this year’s Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup Champions, as voted on by the public and selected by Chevrolet.

The team, that plays out of the Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay, NL, rallied their community and raised $21,500 for the Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Riding Centre, a program that helps children with physical, mental and cognitive disabilities.  Not only will they receive the Good Deeds Cup, the prize of $100,000 will also be donated to the Rainbow Riders, continuing their positive impact.

Over 200 good deeds were completed by Pee Wee hockey teams (players aged 11 and 12) across the country this year. 

Craig Tulk, Executive Director for Hockey NL, said that the provincial association is so proud.  “We embrace teams who provide helping hands in communities as we all strive to make hockey more.  Our association was so impressed by the commitment and thoughtfulness expressed by these young hockey players, with the support from their coaches and parents”, said Tulk 

Hockey NL thanks Chevrolet Canada for their continued support and their commitment to inspire young hockey players to give to others and shares their values.
