Beginning Friday, February 14th, Hockey NL will be presenting the 2014 Pee Wee AAA provincial play downs in Gould’s, NL.  The event features the best 11 and 12 year old players in the province and is hosted by the Gould’s Minor Hockey Association.

Six teams (Tri Pen Ice, Western Wolves, Central Icepak, Tri Com Challenger Construction Cobras, Northern Huskies and the host St. John’s Ruckus) will compete in a single round robin tournament with the top two teams meeting in a championship game on Sunday. The Tri Com team is the defending champs.  The winner of the championships will represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2014 Bell Aliant Cup Atlantic Championships being held this year in Fredericton, NB from March 27-30, 2014.

The Pee Wee AAA program is the first step in the AAA program in the province with players developing and potentially graduating to Bantam AAA, Major Midget and Major Junior in years to come.
