THE RAY BOWE AWARD OF MERIT

(A) This award shall be presented annually to those individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the officiating program within this branch. (B) Awards may be presented when the awards committee has been informed that an individual has met the eligibility requirements, has retired from the HCOP program in this branch in good standing, and has been no longer active in this branch for a minimum of two (2) years. (C) To be eligible an individual must have participated in the HCOP program in this branch since its inception in 1975. They must have participated for a minimum of twenty (20) years and have served at least five (5) years of this service at an administrative level in one position or a combination of the following: referee-in-chief, supervisor of officials, zone coordinator, coordinator female officials, instructor/ evaluator, committee member, or minor hockey RIC. (D) Exceptions to the eligibility requirements may be made based upon extraordinary circumstances and only if recommended by the awards committee and then approved by a majority of the Referees Division Committee.
