RE:
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL COACHES, OFFICIALS AND VOLUNTEERS
As you are all aware, screening with a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) are required by all members of Hockey NL prior to their participation in Hockey NL sanctioned events across all Divisions of Hockey.
We encourage ALL associations/teams/leagues to have their coaches, volunteers and officials complete these checks immediately. The safety and welfare of all our members, especially those most vulnerable, is our top priority.
A copy of the Screening Policy is attached that came into effect January 1, 2020. Please note that beginning the 2022-2023 season, ALL coaches, volunteers, and officials 18 years of age and older must have their Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed and up to date to register for any clinics. This is obviously time sensitive, and we need to spread the word to all Members to ensure they can get their documents requested from either the RNC or RCMP as it could result in a member not being able to register for any clinics with Hockey NL.
Thank you for supporting the safety of all our members. Should you have any questions, please contact the Hockey NL Branch Office.
