ST. JOHN’S MAPLE LEAFS – PROVINCIAL CHAMPS FOR THE FOURTH YEAR

Grand Falls-Windsor NL – The St. John’s Maple Leafs will be representing Hockey NL at the 2018 Major Midget Atlantic Championship being held in East Hants Sportsplex in Lantz, N.S. from March 29 to April 1, 2018. The Leafs beat the regular season champions, Western Kings in the Newfoundland Labrador Major Midget Hockey League finals in five games with an overtime win on Sunday morning at the Glacier in Mount Pearl.
Maple Leafs player Nick Gosse, scored the game winner and took home the Presidents Trophy for the top Play-Off Performance.
The winner of the Atlantic Championship in Nova Scotia will represent the Atlantic Region at the National Telus Cup Championship being played in Sudbury, Ont. from April 23-29, 2018.
The League, its fans, and Hockey NL would like to congratulate the St. John’s Maple Leafs and wish them good luck in their quest to the Telus Cup.
The Major Midget provincial league features five teams and showcases the best 15, 16 and 17 year old male hockey players in the province and is a development program for Major Junior and Junior A hockey.
