“When Silas was born, he had a congenital club foot and we were told he may never be able to play sports or even run or walk as most kids would. For the first year of his life, he had a series of surgeries and medical casts, and had to wear special medical bracing 24 hours a day. His foot managed to turn a full 90 degrees to the correct position throughout the medical procedures and although his foot and leg are slightly smaller now, he has made almost a full recovery.

Last year, at age 10, he wanted to finally learn to skate and to play hockey. He has made leaps and bounds in the sport and in his little lifetime. He is now so proud to say he is a hockey player.”
