WESTERN WARRIORS ARE HEADING BACK TO MIDGET FEMALE ATLANTICS

Grand Falls-Windsor, NL- The Western Warriors Midget AAA Female team won the provincial championship yesterday by defeating the Eastern Ice Breakers 4-1 on the strength of Kaylee Gerrow’s three goals in the finals played at the Polar Centre in St. Anthony. The team is made up of the best 15, 16 and 17 year old female players in the western region of the province.
The Warriors will represent Hockey NL for the second straight year in the Atlantic Regional Championship being held in Charlottetown, PEI from March 31-April 3, 2016. The Atlantic Regional Championship is the final event to determine who will represent Atlantic Canada at the 2016 Esso Cup Female Midget National Championship taking place this year in Weyburn, SK from April 17-23, 2016.
The provincial tournament featured four teams. The Warriors, the Central Ice Pak, Tri Pen Ice and Ice Breakers.
