Hockey NL would like to congratulate Sarah Thomas of Channel Port aux Basques on being selected as Official of the Month.

Sarah was nominated by an officiating leader in her area who had great things to say about her work.

“Sarah has been with our association for 3 seasons now. She has been a very exceptional young linesperson during this time. Since Sarah has embraced the challenge of wearing the bands she has jumped at every opportunity to referee. Sarah is a very smooth skater, has great hockey IQ and is very focused while on the ice. The transition from linesperson to referee was just as smooth for Sarah as her skating skills. Sarah is a very talented multi-sport athlete who recently captured the U18 Provincial Title for female curling & was the youngest female curler to ever compete in the Women’s Provincial Final for the Scotties Qualifier. Despite all of her other activities Sarah is looking to be on the ice officiating as often as she can. We are very lucky to have Sarah in our association & with her skills and dedication at such a young age the sky is the limit for how far Sarah’s officiating career will take her in the Hockey Canada Officiating Program.”  Brent Seaward, Officiating leader with Channel Port aux Basques Minor.

Congratulations Sarah and keep up the great work!
